It was my 35th yesterday, we had a fancy dress murder mystery party which went really well.
We spent today cleaning the house and throwing away empty beer bottles!

I agree with Crumpet, although if my kid ever hit me I doubt they would get a second chance; that is a major crossing of the line.
In principle I don't agree with smacking, it doesn't work - it just pisses the kid off and adds to their unresolved rage which will sooner or later explode out.

The landline system will never die because all broadband access to the home is through the physical medium of the landline network unless you are on cable. Newspaper will never really disappear, although I believe that circulation numbers are down over time. Alot of people get their news fix on the net now but there are still a large percentage of the population that don't sit in front of a computer every day.
If anything is going to die out, I think it may be the domestic mail delivery service. More and more companies are providing online payment options and paperless invoicing through email, having said that I believe that promotional mail and services to those who are not online or are rural will continue to make these services necessary.

There are people in this world who believe that we were created by Thetans and others that god appeared to an American named Joseph Smith and gave him gospels written on gold, others believe that Kali will protect them from demons. Now there are plenty of belief systems which have opposing views and as such they cannot both be correct, thus belief and opinion is not a guarantee of correctness of an opinion.
You also assert that the bible is a source of reliable information. I assert that it is hogwash and nothing more than a tool of oppression used by the Roman Catholic church to control the masses. You no more base the proof for the existance of god on the bible than I can base the existance of Elves on the Lord of The Rings.
You suggest that everything has a beginning, then go on to state that the bible says that god has no beginning. That doesn't make sense and you have contradicted yourself, either he did have a beginning or he didn't. If he did then how did he start?
